Efficient overall water splitting under visible-light irradiation on [[Ga.sub.1-x][Zn.sub.x]][[N.sub.1-x][O.sub.x]] dispersed with Rh-Cr mixed-oxide nanoparticles: Effect of reaction conditions on photocatalytic activity
Article Abstract:
The photocatalytic activity of [[Ga.sub.1-x][Zn.sub.x]][[N.sub.1-x][O.sub.x]] loaded with Rh-Cr mixed-oxide [[Rh.sub.2-y][Cr.sub.y][O.sub.3]] nanoparticles for overall water splitting under visible-light irradiation is determined with respect to reaction pH and gas pressure. The results have shown that the enhancement of [H.sub.2] evolution and suppression of [O.sub.2] reduction on [[Rh.sub.2-y][Cr.sub.y][O.sub.3]]/[[Ga.sub.1-x][Zn.sub.x]][[N.sub.1-x][O.sub.x]] at optimal pH leads to efficient photocatalytic overall water splitting under visible-light irradiation.

Relative brookite and anatase content in sol-gel-synthesized titanium dioxide nanoparticles
Article Abstract:
The influence of titania sol-gel synthesis variables on the brookite content and particle size is systematically studied. The brookite content and particle sizes are most strongly influenced by the Ti/H2O ratio, the pH of the aqueous catalyst solution and the choice of catalyst used during sol-gel synthesis.
